I got this advise as I read the status of a friend of mine on Facebook. I think it would be nice to share it. There are some alterations, but I hope those would not change the message of the status.

If you give an advise to someone to leave his or her wrongdoings, what response do you get? It could be a statement, "everybody's doing it, why can't I?" Or it could be, "many of the people are doing that, I am not alone."
But honestly, such statements that maybe tend to be produced when the advise like that come to you as well.
But, if you pay more attention to the words 'many of the people' in the Qur'an, they are coupled with the words "do not know", "are not grateful", "do not believe".
So direct your face toward the religion, inclining to truth. [Adhere to] the fitrah of Allah upon which He has created [all] people. No change should there be in the creation of Allah. That is the correct religion, but most of the people do not know. (Surat Rum: 30)
Indeed, Allah is full of bounty to the people, but most of the people are not grateful. (Surat Ghafir: 61)
"Indeed, it is the truth from your Lord, but most of the people do not believe." (Surat Hud: 17)
Again, if you pay more attention to the words "many of them" in the Qur'an, you will found that the words after them are "are defiantly disobedient", "do not use reason", "turned away", "do not understand", "do not hear".
"And if they had believed in Allah and the Prophet and in what was revealed to him, they would not have taken them as allies; but many of them are defiantly disobedient." (Surat Al Ma'idah: 81)
"Indeed, those who call you, [O Muhammad], from behind the chambers - most of them do not use reason." (Surat Al Hujurat: 4)"As a giver of good tidings and a warner; but most of them turn away, so they do not hear." (Surat Fussilat: 4)
"And if you asked them, 'Who created the heavens and earth?' they would surely say, ' Allah.' Say, '[All] praise is [due] to Allah '; but most of them do not know." (Surat Luqman: 25)
"And We have certainly created for Hell many of the jinn and mankind. They have hearts with which they do not understand, they have eyes with which they do not see, and they have ears with which they do not hear." (Surat Al A'raf: 179)
So be the minorities, that God says in His verses:
"And few of My servants are grateful." (Surat Saba': 13)
"But none had believed with him, except a few." (Surat Hud: 40)
"And indeed, many associates oppress one another, except for those who believe and do righteous deeds - and few are they." (Surad Sad: 24)
Imam Ash-Shaatibi rahimahullah said in Al-I'tisaam:
“Follow the path of guidance, and do not worry about how few are the people who follow it. Beware of the paths of misguidance, and do not be deceived by the large numbers of those who doomed.”
